Established in 1982, The Alton Victorian Cricket Tournament (originally called the Old Fashioned Cricket Tournament) began as a one day September challenge match between two of Alton’s most historic public houses, The Eight Bells and The French Horn.
Have you enjoyed your day at our unique event? Would you like to learn more about how the magic happens and how it all comes together?
Since 1983, The Alton Victorian Cricket Tournament has raised many tens of thousands for local charities, making it one of Alton’s most anticipated and loved events of the year, which draws people from near and far.
The tournament planning process starts in November going through to the big event in June. This is done, via monthly informal committee meetings, to ensure that there is the efficiently organised and exciting day, that Alton deserve.
All of the committee members are volunteers and love helping to make a real difference to all the charities we have supported over the years.
So, do you think you have the time (normally no longer than 2 hours a month), and want to share in this wonderful annual experience? If you have sales, marketing, project management skills, or just have a passion
to make a difference by helping people in our local area, then please make yourself known!
On the day: Leave your contact details at the Raffle tent, or simply come along and have a chat.
