Naomi House and Jack's Place

Naomi House Children’s Hospice has been caring for local terminally ill and life-limited children since 1997. We look after over 300 children and their families each year, offering residential respite breaks, end of life care and bereavement support.

Naomi House is able to offer a unique and vital service. Our wonderful facilities enable families to use us for desperately needed respite care. Each family takes advantage of this in different ways. Some will bring the whole family to stay, giving parents and siblings the chance to relax; others will leave their child in our care whilst they recharge their batteries at home or on holiday.

Naomi House is full of noise, love and laughter, with nursing staff providing individualised nursing care to help enhance short lives, and allowing families to make the most of their precious time with their children. There are ten children’s bedrooms and five family bedrooms and a broad range of facilities including music therapy, computer, art and play rooms and multi-sensory and hydrotherapy suites. There are beautiful gardens with specialist playground equipment.

Inevitably there are some sad times and Naomi House also offers The Butterfly Suite, a special suite of rooms for families to use for up to two weeks after the death of a child, whilst we help with funeral arrangements. Our specialist bereavement counsellors give support to families for as long as is needed.

In February 2010 we opened jacksplace a new hospice for teenagers and young people aged 16 to 25. Jacksplace has six bedrooms equipped with specialist beds, hoists and state of the art en-suite bathrooms.

With less than 15% of our funding coming from the government we rely on the generosity of the communities we serve to enable us to raise c £5 million each year to continue to provide our vital services free of charge to families. Could you help us with our fundraising activities? For more information please visit our website www.naomihouse.org.uk or contact our fundraising office on 01962 843513.

We are incredibly grateful to the Alton Victorian Cricket Festival for choosing us as their charity this year. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 26th June.
